At Balance Health Nottingham, we believe that investing in our community means supporting organisations that inspire, educate and bring people together. So we're very proud to sponsor Music Maker's Summer School, an outstanding Nottingham programme that has been nurturing young musicians for many years.

Developed and led by respected local music teacher and musician Mark Rolfe, Music Maker's Summer School is held each summer at Nottingham Girls' High School and welcomes children and young people from across Nottingham and beyond.

Unlike many music programmes, Music Maker's Summer School is designed for everyone. Whether a child has never picked up an instrument before or is already an experienced musician, there is something for them. Absolute beginners are introduced to music through engaging instrumental lessons, fun workshops and supportive tuition, while more experienced musicians are challenged with exciting ensembles, creative activities and opportunities to further develop their skills.

Every course concludes with a special end-of-week concert, giving every participant the chance to perform for family and friends. These performances celebrate not only musical progress, but also the confidence, teamwork and friendships that have been built throughout the week.

Mark Rolfe, Founder of Music Maker's Summer School, said:

"Music Maker's Summer School has always been about creating opportunities for every child to experience the joy of making music.

Whether they're a complete beginner or an accomplished young musician, we want them to feel welcomed, supported and inspired. Watching their confidence grow throughout the week and seeing them perform at the final concert is what makes it all worthwhile."

Music Maker's Summer School is about much more than music. It has a strong commitment to social responsibility, working closely with a wide range of local and national charities. Through its courses and concerts, the programme regularly supports fundraising initiatives and community projects, helping to make a positive impact far beyond the classroom.

These values strongly resonate with Balance Health Nottingham.

Just as Music Maker's Summer School helps young people grow through creativity, collaboration and performance, Balance Health Nottingham is dedicated to helping adults improve their physical, mental and social wellbeing. Both organisations believe that confidence, community and personal development are just as important as performance itself.

Emma Cater, Managing Director of Balance Health Nottingham, said:

"We're delighted to support Music Maker's Summer School and the incredible work Mark and his team do for young people across Nottingham.

Their commitment to inclusion, confidence-building and creating opportunities for children of every ability mirrors our own belief that wellbeing is about much more than physical health. We wish everyone involved a fantastic summer and look forward to seeing the amazing performances."

We are incredibly proud to support a programme that continues to inspire the next generation of musicians while making such a positive contribution to our local community.

We wish all the students, tutors, volunteers and families a wonderful summer at Music Maker's Summer School, and leave you with the programme's simple but powerful motto:

Be excellent to each other.
